This week have been exploring a wonderful topic book titled Brick: Who Found Herself in Architecture by Joshua David Stein. This book really captured the children's imagination as brick set out to find her place in the world. She looked at various extraordinary archaeological pieces such as 'The Great wall of China' and other marvellous constructions around the globe. Ultimately Brick decided to become part of a path to help other bricks along their journey of discovery knowing that 'great things begin with small bricks.'

The children were inspired by this book and went off to create some of the worlds famous buildings and even invented their own in DT. We had a fire station, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Taj Mahal which proved very popular as it was also continually constructed over in our builders yard Role Play Area.

Later in the week we constructed paper airplanes which were great fun to fly around the classroom as well as visiting Dew Drop Inn where we played The Matterhorn Game alongside the pensioners as we tried to be the first person to roll 1-6 and make it to the top of the mountain.

When Friday came around we were excited to head to the common and go hunting for minibeasts as well as looking for progressive signs of spring. As the weather has been chilly lately wee treated the children to a sugar free hot chocolate alongside a gingerbread biscuit for their snack.
